Apple Launches Store App in India
Apple launched its dedicated Apple Store app in India on Friday, marking a deeper retail presence in the world’s most populous country. This move comes as the iPhone maker seeks to capitalize on growing consumer demand in India. The app, available for download on the Indian App Store, allows customers to purchase Apple tech products directly, with personalized shopping recommendations.
Features and Customization Options
The app lets users customize their Mac with powerful chips, additional memory, or extra storage, features long sought by Indian customers. It also offers convenient options for delivery or pickup of purchases. Through the app, customers can access separate tabs for products, personalized recommendations, and post-purchase support, including online setup sessions with Apple specialists. Additionally, the app allows users to sign up for free training sessions at physical Apple stores, explore Apple trade-in and financing options, and add free engravings to devices like AirPods and iPads in eight languages.
Expanding Apple’s Footprint in India
This launch follows Apple’s strategy tо strengthen its presence іn India. The company opened its first physical stores іn Mumbai and Delhi іn 2023, with plans for four additional stores іn Bengaluru, Pune, and more locations іn Delhi and Mumbai. Apple’s online store for India debuted іn 2020. As the second-largest smartphone market globally, India іs becoming increasingly important for Apple, particularly as the company looks tо expand its manufacturing bases outside China. Apple began assembling iPhones іn India іn 2017, and has since expanded its production through partners like Foxconn and the Indian conglomerate Tata.
